Work Starts at Haverfordwest High School

Construction has officially begun on Pembrokeshire County Council’s biggest construction site to date.  A ‘Turf-Cutting’ ceremony was held on Thursday 26th November, at the construction site for the new Haverfordwest High VC School in Prendergast.  Held to mark the formal start of construction works, the traditional ceremony is thought to bring luck to the £48.7m project, which is being funded jointly by Pembrokeshire County Council and the Welsh Government as part of the 21st Century Schools & Colleges Programme.

Evan Pritchard Contractors will be undertaking groundworks, drainage and external works packages for the new Haverfordwest High ‘Superschool’.

The new school building, on the former Sir Thomas Picton School site, is due for completion in the summer of 2022.  Link below shows a CGI fly through of the new school.
