Contract Value: Up to £400k annual spend for each site

We have been site contractors for both the MoD Pendine & Aberporth sites for the past 15 years approx. During this period, there have been several intermediaries who we have dealt with who have acted as management for the sites.

The agreement has meant that we have had a permanent presence on both sites, meaning long term working relationships have been formed resulting in increased efficiency in systems of work. We have dealt with both pro-active and reactive maintenance, and have completed jobs ranging vastly in value from £25 – £250k. Work scope also varies hugely within this agreement, so being flexible and amenable are vital assets in terms of making it a success.

Security on these sites is of paramount importance, and often involves working on the sites when trials are taking place. We have developed a thorough knowledge of working within the strict parameters, and have an exemplary record of ensuring all of our employees/sub-contractors comply with them.

MoD site projects/maintenance

Castlemartin/Penally/Manorbier, Pembrokeshire

Client: Landmarc
Contract Value: Up to £600k annual spend

As with the Pendine and Aberporth sites, we have been site contractors for the Castlemartin, Penally & Manorbier MoD sites for the past 15 years approx. which have been managed during this time by Landmarc.

Although not having a permanent presence on the sites, the benefits of establishing long term working relationships has still been evident. Again, we have dealt with both pro-active and reactive maintenance, and have completed jobs within the same value brackets as the Pendine & Aberporth sites, with the same requirement for needing to be flexible and amenable.

Security is as important on these sites, and the same strict parameters are in place which need to be adhered to unconditionally.

Withybush Hospital projects/maintenance

Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire

Client: Hywel Dda University Health Board through tenders
Contract Value: Varies annually depending on budget

We have built another long standing working relationship with the local health board in keeping with our company ethos of forming working relationships that last. Although all work is tendered, we have a consistent record of being successful and work closely with the client on all work to ensure maximisation of, what is usually, a tight budget.

The works scope vary enormously as with all of our maintenance agreements, so being flexible and being able to offer a wide range of services often reflects favourably on our results.

Types of projects/maintenance include:

  • Concrete works- Slabs, bases etc
  • Electrical works- Both internal and external to the hospital
  • Services- Ducting, gas, BT etc.
  • Tarmac, paving & kerb works
  • Steps, handrails, ramps etc.
  • Drainage installations/maintenance

Various project/maintenance works at Pembroke Power Station

Pembroke, Pembrokeshire

Client: RWE NPower
Contract Value: £500k total

Following original construction of a turnkey power station project, there were several modifications required by the site management prior to operation in order to suit their particular site needs. The work was let over a series of phases through individual tenders, and involved modifications to various locations on site including workshops, offices, storage areas and production areas.

The work was let on a collaborative basis, in that our client knew what they wanted but also relied on our experience and expertise to provide solutions. Quality of work was of the upmost importance throughout, and specifications of products were of the highest standard.

Security & safety was a crucial consideration on site and often involved working in restricted areas through a permit to work system.

Work elements involved:

  • Specialist M&E works against specified employer’s requirements;
  • Steel frame building/composite cladding/Roller shutter doors;
  • Masonry works;
  • External works- Structural concrete and foundations/tarmac & paving works/foul and surface water drainage/hand railing;
  • Internal works- stud work/dry lining & decoration/toilet & shower installations/kitchen/suspended ceiling/safety flooring/aluminium doors & windows;
  • O&M manual upon completion.
